The sun set on a memorable visit. And set on 1984.
Gold.

Golden memories of Cape Meares and the Pacific Ocean.
When you stand near the famous Octopus Tree at Cape Meares, this is what you see.
On my last visit, I got to walk on the beach below. Just magic.
Cape Meares Lighthouse is an important attraction for some. For me, it is the water that is the draw.

I have had the good fortune to visit Cape Meares in Oregon several times. When people talk about the Pacific Coast or Pacific Ocean, it is not the cliched highways of California that come to my mind, but the subtle, solitary and stunning splendour of the Oregon Coast.

I think my cousin Niranjan for introducing me to this natural wonder. December 31, 1984.

The path to Cape Meares Lighthouse and a glimpse of the sea.

The lighthouse, the sea.
